Employee Motivation - Stop Demotivating Employees. I think leaders don't have to start motivating their employees, so much as they have to stop de-motivating their employees. I think so many things we do in the workplace often inadvertently end up demotivating our employees, and we need to be aware of what those Jobstacles might be.

Jobstacles - things that get in the way of people doing their jobs effectively. And in fact, research shows that there are things that de-motivate employees, as well as things that motivate employees, but those are not just the opposite of each other. Demotivators are often things that are completely different, that won't show up on a list of what actually motivates employees. So make sure when you're having conversations with your employees, with your team members, to talk not just about what motivates people, what gets people inspired and excited. Talk about what drives people batty, what is possibly demotivating them. And talk about the Jobstacles that might be getting in the way of their success. @Michael Kerr - Inspiring Workplaces
